IEFS-UK is an international association of professional economists working in the areas of International Economics (Trade Theory, International Macroeconomics) and International Finance, broadly defined.

The Society aims:

- To promote scientific research and general scholarly work  on topics of theoretical or topical interest in its areas of interest of a high calibre;

- To encourage communication between economists working in related fields, within and between countries;
 

- Through its conferences and the publications it encourages, to provide outlets for the wide dissemination of research output;

- To further the scientific and other interests of its members by engaging in a dialogue on relevant issues, providing information, etc.
 
 

While the Society has primarily a UK focus, participation by colleagues from further a field is encouraged. The focus of our efforts is on scholarly work, but economists working as practitioners in government, business or other organisations are welcome to participate in our events and discussions.
